RITES IT Professionals Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for Deputy General Manager, Senior Manager & Manager Posts

RITES Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways and a premier multi-disciplinary consultancy organisation in transport and infrastructure, has announced recruitment of IT professionals on a regular basis for three senior positions at its Gurgaon headquarters.

The timelines are unusually tight. Applications opened on 3 August 2026, close on 24 August 2026, and the written test follows just six days later on 30 August 2026. If you are preparing for the Cyber Security or API Developer roles, treat the syllabus below as the working revision plan from the day you apply.

Age Relaxation

Educational Qualification

The minimum qualification is the same for all three posts: a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering / Technology / Computer Science, or a Degree in Engineering in Computer Applications, Information Technology, Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunications, Electronics & Communication, or Electronics & Instrumentation. Alternatively, a Post Graduate Degree in Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Instrumentation, Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Applications.

  • UR and EWS candidates — and SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD candidates applying against unreserved posts — need a first class degree or minimum 60 percent marks.
  • Reserved category candidates against reserved posts need at least 50 percent marks.
  • The degree must be recognised by AICTE or UGC as applicable. Sections A and B of the Institution of Engineers (India) are also accepted.
  • Where the marksheet does not show a class or percentage, the university’s conversion formula must be provided. If the institution has no conversion formula, an undertaking is required and 6 on a 10-point scale is treated as 60 percent.

Experience Requirements

RG/13/26 – Deputy General Manager (Joint Program Manager)

11 years of post-qualification experience, of which a minimum of 5 years must be in the job description below. Managed end-to-end execution of large, strategic IT and digital transformation programs; extensive stakeholder management with Government Ministries, regulatory bodies and senior executives; multi-vendor environments, contract execution and project monitoring through defined KPIs and governance frameworks; enterprise application development, system integration, API-based interoperability, cloud deployment, cybersecurity compliance and data governance; Agile, Waterfall and hybrid methodologies; requirement analysis, business process re-engineering, change management and user acceptance coordination. Preferred certifications: PgMP, PMP, SAFe Agilist or Prosci.

RG/14/26 – Senior Manager (Cyber Security Expert)

8 years of post-qualification experience, of which a minimum of 6 years must be in the job description below. Designing and implementing enterprise cybersecurity solutions; risk assessments, VAPT and security audits; IAM, MFA, encryption, API security and network security controls; monitoring incidents using SIEM tools and leading incident response; compliance with ISO 27001, NIST, CERT-In, DPDP and OWASP guidelines; integrating security into the SDLC/DevSecOps lifecycle; security policies, documentation and compliance reports. Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, CCSP or equivalent.

RG/15/26 – Manager (API Developer)

5 years of post-qualification experience in the job description below. Developing and maintaining REST APIs and microservices; integrating APIs with internal and third-party applications; ensuring API security, performance and reliability; preparing API documentation and supporting deployments; collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. Preferred certifications: Spring Professional Certification, API Design or Microservices Certification.

The criteria apply to the latest organisation in which the candidate has worked or is working. The two-year residency in the immediate lower scale is waived for candidates already in the same or a higher pay scale than the advertised post.

Note what does not count as experience: training other than on-the-job training, internships, teaching, academic work, fellowships and PhD research. Apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in the relevant discipline is counted towards the minimum post-qualification experience.

SC, ST and PwD candidates applying against unreserved posts must still pay the full fee at the application stage. The fee paid by SC, ST and PwD candidates is refunded later on their participation in the written exam or interview, credited back to the source account after scrutiny of the category certificate and net of GST and bank charges. Applications without successful fee payment are treated as incomplete and summarily rejected.

Selection Process

Deputy General Manager (RG/13/26) – Interview Only

Document scrutiny by RITES, followed by verification of original documents and an interview. The interview carries 100 percent weightage — Technical and Professional proficiency 65 percent, Personality, Communication and Competency 35 percent.

Senior Manager (RG/14/26) and Manager (RG/15/26) – Written Test and Interview

  1. Written test on 30 August 2026: 125 objective questions of one mark each over 2.5 hours, with no negative marking. PwBD candidates get 50 minutes of compensatory time. A minimum of 50 percent (45 percent for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD against reserved posts) is required to move forward.
  2. Document scrutiny based on the written test result and number of vacancies.
  3. Interview in the ratio of 1:6 to the number of vacancies.
  4. Final weightage: Written test 60 percent, Interview 40 percent (Technical and Professional proficiency 30, Personality, Communication and Competency 10). A minimum of 60 percent in the interview (50 percent for reserved categories against reserved posts) is required for placement on the panel. There are no minimum qualifying marks in the aggregate.

Candidates may appear for the selection process in Hindi or English. Appointment is subject to being found medically fit as per RITES rules.

Written Test Centres

Candidates give two centre preferences at the time of application, from Delhi/Gurgaon, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar and Guwahati. All centres except Delhi/Gurgaon are tentative and depend on candidate numbers and the discretion of RITES. Preference does not guarantee allotment.

  3. Make the online payment under “Make Payment”, then download the final application form and keep a copy.

  • High School certificate as proof of date of birth
  • Certificates and marksheets of all academic and professional qualifications, for all semesters and years (10th, 12th, Diploma, Graduation, Post-Graduation as claimed)
  • Percentage conversion document issued by the university or institute, where applicable
  • EWS / SC / ST / OBC certificate in the Government of India format, where applicable
  • Proof of identity and address, and PAN card
  • Proof of each period of experience claimed, in a single PDF in chronological order — offer letter, joining order, relieving letter, service certificate and relevant pay slips
  • PwBD certificate in the latest format, if applicable
  • For CTC proof: last Form 16, earning card, salary slip or appraisal letter

Candidature is liable to be cancelled for failure to upload documents substantiating eligibility and the claims made. Hard copies must not be sent by post or courier. Candidates must also carry two duly filled copies of Annexure A, the documents submission checklist, to document verification.

Candidates working in Government organisations, PSUs or PSBs on a regular basis should apply through proper channel. Those applying directly must bring a No Objection Certificate at the interview to be eligible for pay protection, transfer of gratuity and leave, and joining benefits. An NOC submitted after the interview date will not be considered.

Other Conditions of Service

  • Appointment is initially on probation for one year. Confirmation depends on performance and verification of documents, and candidates must clear a screening test at the end of probation.
  • Selected candidates are liable for posting anywhere in India and abroad.
  • No application of an employee will be forwarded for outside jobs until two years of service are completed.
  • Pay is fixed at the minimum of the scale. Pay protection is available to those from other PSUs or Government organisations who applied through proper channel or submitted an NOC at the interview.
