Selection Process
Selection follows a structured, weighted process rather than a single interview:
- Applications are screened on academic record, research performance and other scholarly credentials as per the university’s assessment tables.
- The university will conduct a screening test for Assistant Professors for shortlisting. Exemption is available to candidates with a Ph.D. in the relevant branch who have at least one Category-I publication, or two Category-II publications, or five publications across Category-II and Category-III combined.
- Shortlisted candidates make a presentation or seminar before a departmental committee, in the presence of faculty and students, and are graded A to D.
- Final selection weighting: 50 percent on points earned from the academic and research assessment tables, and 50 percent on interview performance.
Normally 10 candidates are called for the first post and 5 for each subsequent post, though the university may relax this.
