Cadre-Wise Vacancy and Pay Scale

Category-Wise Reservation
| Category | Vacancies |
|---|---|
| SC | 57 |
| ST | 27 |
| OBC | 105 |
| EWS | 36 |
| UR | 170 |
| Total | 395 |
Within this total, 5 posts are reserved for Visually Impaired, 5 for Hearing Impaired, 7 for Orthopedically Challenged and 2 for Intellectually Disabled candidates, spread across specific post codes rather than every role.
General Banking vs. Specialized Segment
The 19 General Banking post codes (G01–G19) are the ones most graduates will recognise — General Banking Officers, Personal Assistants to Executives, Vendor Management, and a handful of niche fraud and AML specialist roles that still only ask for a graduate degree plus banking experience. The 89 active Specialized post codes (S01 through S108, with some numbers unused) are where the bank is building out its technology and risk functions: Forex Officers, more than 55 distinct IT and cybersecurity roles — API management, blockchain, cloud, SOC analyst, DevSecOps, data privacy, enterprise architecture and similar — nine Chartered Accountant specialisations, eight Risk Management Officer roles, four Law Officer scales, three Architect grades, four Civil Engineer grades, and single-post roles like Printing Specialist. This is unusually IT-heavy for a public sector bank recruitment; most of the individual specialist codes carry just one or two vacancies, which is normal for niche technical hiring but means competition per seat is effectively wide open.
Where Most of the Vacancies Actually Are
With 127 post codes in play, it helps to know where the volume sits. These are the highest-vacancy roles in the drive:
| Post | Scale | Vacancies |
|---|---|---|
| Chartered Accountant (CA) – Credit | III & IV combined | 75 |
| General Banking Officers | II & III combined | 50 |
| Forex Officer | II & III combined | 50 |
| Personal Assistants to Executives | II & III combined | 25 |
| Law Officer | II | 20 |
Eligibility Criteria
Because this notification covers 127 different roles, there is no single eligibility line that applies across the board — age, qualification, mandatory certification and experience are all set post-code by post-code. That said, some patterns hold across the drive:
General Banking Officers (G15/G16)
Graduate degree in any discipline. Scale III needs a minimum 5 years’ banking experience with 3 years as Branch Head or credit officer (age 25–35); Scale II needs 2 years’ experience with 1 year as Branch Head or credit officer (age 22–30).
Specialized IT and Cybersecurity Roles
Almost all require a full-time B.E./B.Tech/MCA or equivalent in Computer Science, IT, Electronics or a related field, plus experience ranging from 3 years at Scale II up to 15 years at Scale VI. Many also demand a specific industry certification — CISSP, CISM, TOGAF, ISTQB, CKA/CKS, AWS/Azure/GCP credentials and similar — as a mandatory qualifying document, not just a preference.
Chartered Accountant Roles (S72–S80)
CA from ICAI is mandatory (Credit posts also accept CMA from ICMAI or CFA from the CFA Institute). Experience requirements run from 5 years at Scale III up to 8 years at Scale IV, with a chunk of that time specifically at a bank’s Head Office or Corporate Office depending on the specialisation — taxation, balance sheet, capital planning, investor relations, IND-AS/IGAAP, MFTP or credit appraisal.
Law Officer (S89–S92)
A bachelor’s degree in law is mandatory throughout, with Scale V requiring a minimum 50% aggregate and 15 years of combined practice/law-officer experience (10 of it as a Law Officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank, PSU or government department), scaling down to just 3 years of total post-qualification experience at Scale II.
Given how much this varies, treat the post-code table in the official PDF as mandatory reading rather than a formality — applying against the wrong age or experience bracket for your chosen code is the single most avoidable reason candidatures get rejected in a notification this size.
Cut-Off Dates
- Age: reckoned as on 1 July 2026, the first day of the month registration opened
- Educational qualification, mandatory certification and post-qualification experience: all reckoned as on 10 August 2026, the last date of registration
Experience gained in clerical cadre roles does not count toward post-qualification experience for any post code.
Age Relaxation
| Category | Relaxation |
|---|---|
| SC / ST | 5 years |
| OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) | 3 years |
| Persons with Benchmark Disability | 10 years |
| Ex-Servicemen / ECOs / SSCOs (min. 5 years service) | 5 years |
| Persons affected by the 1984 riots | 5 years |
SC/ST/OBC relaxation combines with only one of the remaining categories. There is no reservation for Ex-servicemen in this drive since it is direct recruitment to officer cadre — they get the age relaxation only.
Application Fee
| Category | Fee |
|---|---|
| SC / ST / PwBD | ₹177 (inclusive of GST) |
| UR / EWS / OBC | ₹1,180 (inclusive of GST) |
Payment is online only, and bank transaction charges are borne by the applicant.
Selection Process
Selection differs by scale. Posts up to Scale III may go through an online exam and/or Group Discussion and/or Personal Interview; Scale IV, V and VI posts skip the written exam and move straight to Group Discussion / other assessment and Personal Interview, depending on how many applicants qualify.
Online Exam – Specialist Officer Segment (up to Scale III)
| Test | Questions | Marks | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Professional Knowledge relevant to the post | 50 (MCQ) | 100 | 60 minutes |
Online Exam – General Banking Segment (up to Scale III)
| Test | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| Quantitative Aptitude | 25 | 25 |
| Reasoning | 25 | 25 |
| English Language | 25 | 25 |
| Professional Knowledge relevant to the post/domain | 50 | 100 |
| Total | 125 | 175 |
Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and English are qualifying only and don’t count toward final merit; total duration for the General Banking segment is 120 minutes against 60 minutes for Specialist Officer roles. Qualifying marks are 40% for General/EWS and 35% for reserved categories in each section, though the bank can revise this. There’s a quarter-mark penalty for each wrong answer, and a Personal Interview (100 marks, qualifying at 50 for General/EWS and 45 for reserved categories) follows for shortlisted candidates, called in a 1:3 ratio against vacancies.
Service Indemnity Bond
Selected candidates must serve a minimum of 3 years or repay the bank a fixed sum if they leave early: ₹2,00,000 for General Banking posts (G01–G19), and ₹2,50,000 for Specialized Segment posts (S01–S108), plus applicable taxes.
