Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. The discipline genuinely does not matter here. Arts, commerce, science and professional degrees are treated alike.

Computer literacy is mandatory. You must hold a certificate, diploma or degree in computer operations, or have studied Computer or Information Technology as a subject in high school, college or an institute.

Ex-servicemen who are matriculates and hold the Army Special Certificate of Education or its equivalent after 15 years of service in the Armed Forces are also eligible.

You must hold a valid mark sheet or degree certificate proving graduation on the day you register, and the date of passing must be entered in the application form.

Age Limit

Between 20 and 28 years as on 1 August 2026. In date terms, candidates must have been born not earlier than 2 August 1998 and not later than 1 August 2006, both dates inclusive. Upper age relaxation applies to SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), persons with benchmark disabilities, ex-servicemen and other categories as specified in the notification.

Local Language Proficiency

This is the requirement most candidates underestimate. You must be proficient in the official language of the state or UT you apply for, meaning you can read, write, speak and understand it. Proficiency is verified at a Language Proficiency Test conducted before joining. Candidates who studied the language at 10th or 12th standard are ordinarily exempt from the test on production of the mark sheet.
