Samagra Shiksha Diu Recruitment 2026 – Walk-in Interview for 5 Post Graduate Teacher Posts

The Directorate of Education, U.T. Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu has issued Notice No. EDN/SS/DIU/STC-PGT/RECRUITMENT/2026-27/237 dated 28 July 2026 calling a walk-in interview on 10 August 2026 at 09:30 AM to engage Post Graduate Teachers under Samagra Shiksha, Diu for the academic year 2026-27.

There is no online form and no application window. You turn up at the venue on the day with your papers in order, sit a written test, and if you clear it you are interviewed the same morning. That compresses the whole process into a few hours, which is good news for anyone tired of waiting six months for a result, and bad news for anyone who reads this notice on 9 August and has not yet assembled their certificates.

Samagra Shiksha is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme, and these engagements sit on a Short Term Contract (STC) basis. That framing matters and is spelled out in the notice itself: the engagement ends automatically when the contract period is over, and selection confers no claim whatsoever to a regular post in the Department.

All five seats are English medium and all carry the same fixed remuneration.

Statistics and Business Studies rarely appear in school teacher notifications, and Accountancy PGT vacancies are thin on the ground in the union territories. With one seat per subject and a single walk-in date, the field in each subject will be small compared with a state-level TGT or PGT drive. That is the real opportunity here.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

A candidate qualifies through either of two routes:

1. Post Graduation in the respective subject from a recognised University with at least 50% marks, plus a B.Ed. from an institution recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE); OR
2. Post Graduation in the respective subject from a recognised University with at least 50% marks, plus B.A.Ed. or B.Sc.Ed. from any NCTE recognised institution.

The 50% floor applies at post graduation, and the teaching qualification must be NCTE recognised. A B.Ed. from an institution outside the NCTE list will not carry you past scrutiny, so check your institution’s recognition status before you travel.

Medium Condition

This is the clause most likely to catch people out. For medium specific teachers, the medium of study in SSC must be the same as the medium being applied for. Since every seat on offer is English medium, that means your Class 10 board examination should have been taken in English medium.

The notice adds an explicit carve-out: this condition is not applicable for language subjects such as Gujarati, Marathi, Hindi and English. None of the five subjects advertised here is a language subject, so the SSC medium condition applies to all of them in full.

Age Limit

Not exceeding 30 years. The upper age limit is relaxable as per orders and guidelines issued by the Central Government from time to time, which covers the usual reserved category relaxations. Remuneration

The engagement carries a fixed monthly remuneration of ₹29,000. It is a consolidated figure against a contractual post, not a pay level with increments, allowances or a dearness component. Treat it as the whole of what you will be paid for the academic year.

Selection Process

The order of events on 10 August is fixed and worth knowing in advance:

• Candidates report at Government Higher Secondary School, Diu at 09:30 AM.
• A written test for PGTs is conducted the same day, before the interview.
• Only candidates securing a minimum of 40% marks in the written test become eligible for the interview.
• Shortlisted candidates are then interviewed.
• Original documents must be produced for verification at the time of the interview.

The 40% written test cut-off is a genuine filter rather than a formality. Anyone arriving with the assumption that a walk-in means a straight conversation about their B.Ed. is going to be surprised. Revise your subject the night before, particularly the higher secondary syllabus in Accountancy, Statistics and Business Studies where the questions will sit close to what you would actually be teaching.

Documents to Carry

You must bring the application in the prescribed format along with self-attested copies of all relevant documents and certificates, and the originals for verification. Based on the note attached to the application form, the supporting set covers:

• Leaving Certificate
• Caste Certificate, where applicable
• SSC and HSC marksheets and certificates
• Graduation and Post Graduation marksheets and certificates
• Professional qualification certificate (B.Ed. / B.A.Ed. / B.Sc.Ed.)
• Experience certificate, if any
• Recent passport size photograph, self-attested, to be pasted on the form

The application form itself asks for your father’s name, residential address, mobile number, email, date of birth, exact age as on the last date, gender, caste category, physically handicapped or special category status, marital status, whether you are a domicile of DNH / Daman / Diu, and your medium of study in SSC as a separate declared field.
