AIIMS Bathinda Faculty Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 77 Professor, Additional Professor and More Posts
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bathinda has issued Advertisement No. AIIMS/BTI/RC/Faculty/2026/2373 dated 31 July 2026 for 77 Group-A faculty posts on a direct recruitment basis across its clinical and pre-clinical departments. The mandatory Google form closes on 21 August 2026 at 5:00 PM, and the printed application must reach the Recruitment Cell by 28 August 2026 at 5:00 PM.
Note that structure carefully, because it catches candidates out every cycle. This is a two stage submission. Filling the online form alone does not make you an applicant, and posting the hard copy without having filled the form does not either. Both are compulsory, and they have different deadlines a week apart.

The Downgrading Clause Most Candidates Miss
Two footnotes in the vacancy tables materially widen who should apply, and they are easy to skip past.
If suitable candidates are not found for an Additional Professor post, it may be filled from a lower cadre in the same category. An Additional Professor (SC) post in Nuclear Medicine, for instance, may be filled by an Associate Professor (SC) or an Assistant Professor (SC). The same provision applies to Associate Professor posts, which may be filled by an Assistant Professor in the same category.
The practical effect is that candidates eligible only for a lower cadre may still apply against a department where a higher cadre post is advertised. If you meet Assistant Professor criteria and your department appears only in the Associate Professor list, you are not excluded. Selection on a downgraded post is for a tenure of five to seven years, which is the trade-off attached.
Pay Scale
| Post | Level and Pay |
|---|---|
| Professor | Level 14-A, ₹1,68,900 to ₹2,20,400 |
| Additional Professor | Level 13-A2+, ₹1,48,200 to ₹2,11,400 |
| Associate Professor | Level 13-A1+, ₹1,38,300 to ₹2,09,200 |
| Assistant Professor | Level 12, ₹1,01,500 to ₹1,67,400 |
All figures are Seventh CPC levels plus the usual allowances, including Non-Practising Allowance where applicable. Selected candidates are governed by the New Pension Scheme under the Ministry of Finance notification dated 22 December 2003.
Age Limit
Upper age is reckoned as on the closing date for the Google form, 21 August 2026.
| Professor and Additional Professor | Not exceeding 58 years |
| Associate Professor and Assistant Professor | Not exceeding 50 years |
| Category | Relaxation Beyond the Upper Age Limit |
|---|---|
| SC / ST | 05 years |
| OBC | 03 years |
| EWS | No age relaxation |
| Government servant, per DoPT O.M. dated 27 March 2012 | 05 years |
| PwBD | As per DoPT guidelines |
| Ex-servicemen | As applicable under DoPT guidelines |
No age relaxation is available to SC, ST or OBC candidates applying against unreserved vacancies. Because the ceiling turns on a specific date, work your exact position out with our free age calculator before you pay a fee of ₹2,360 that is not refundable.
Experience, wherever prescribed, is counted only after obtaining the prescribed qualification. Time served before the qualifying degree does not count.
Certificate Validity Dates
This is where reserved category applications most often fail, and the dates are specific.
- OBC-NCL certificate must be issued between 1 April 2026 and 21 August 2026, in the DoPT format under O.M. No. 36036/2/2013-Estt.(Res) dated 30 May 2014, valid for employment in a Central Government institution, and must clearly show that the applicant is not in the creamy layer. Eligibility is based on castes borne in the Central List, not a state list. A separate declaration in the prescribed format is also required at document verification.
- EWS certificate must be issued between 1 April 2026 and 21 August 2026, on the basis of financial year 2025-26 income, valid for 2026-27. Any certificate outside those dates is treated as invalid.
- All category certificates must be dated earlier than the closing date and be in Hindi or English in the prescribed Central Government format.
- PwBD candidates with not less than 40% specified disability who meet the functional requirements are eligible for 4% horizontal reservation, on production of a valid certificate from the competent authority.
Two further points. EWS posts are not carried forward as backlog if unfilled, so other category candidates may apply provisionally against them and be considered as UR if the EWS post is otherwise not filled. And the category once applied cannot be changed later, so enter it correctly in both the application form and the Google form.
Application Fee
| Category | Total Payable, including 18% GST |
|---|---|
| General / OBC / EWS | ₹2,360 |
| SC / ST | ₹1,180 |
| Persons with benchmark disabilities | Nil |
Payment is online only, through the SBI Collect payment gateway link given in the notification. The transaction number must be written in the space provided on the application form and the transaction receipt posted with the hard copy. No request for refund is entertained after submission.
Applying for more than one post requires a separate application, a separate fee and a separate hard copy submission for each. There is no combined application.
How to Apply
- Confirm you meet every eligibility condition on or before 21 August 2026. Applications from candidates who do not are rejected.
- Fill the mandatory Google form by 21 August 2026, 5:00 PM IST, after which the link is disabled.
- Download the application form from aiimsbathinda.edu.in, complete it in MS Word format as per the proforma, and print it.
- Pay the fee online through the SBI Collect link and note the transaction number on the form.
- Post the typed application with self-attested documents by Registered Post or Speed Post only so that it reaches the Recruitment Cell by 28 August 2026, 5:00 PM.
- Super-scribe the envelope “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ……… DEPTT. OF ………”.
Postal address: The Recruitment Cell, Administrative Block, Medical College Building, Mandi Dabwali Road, AIIMS Bathinda, Punjab 151001.
AIIMS Bathinda states plainly that it is not responsible for any postal delay. With a hard deadline of 28 August and Speed Post the only permitted route, send it in the third week of August rather than the last two days.
Documents to Enclose
- Application form and candidate’s brief profile in the prescribed format
- All mark sheets and degree certificates
- FMGE certificate, if applicable
- Registration and additional registration with the Medical Council
- Proof of age or date of birth
- Category certificate for SC, ST, OBC, EWS or PwBD in the prescribed Government of India format
- Experience certificate
- No Objection Certificate for candidates working in Central or State Government organisations, PSUs or autonomous bodies

Faculty applications run to a thick bundle of scanned degrees, registrations and experience letters, and the Google form stage has its own upload limits. Our free JPG to PDF converter merges photographed certificates into one clean document, the PDF compressor brings an oversized file under the limit without making it unreadable, and the photo and signature resizer handles the passport photograph. All three work in your browser with nothing uploaded anywhere.
Selection Process
- Applications received within the prescribed date with the requisite fee are scrutinised by the Institute’s scrutiny committee.
- Eligible candidates are called for a personal interview before the Standing Selection Committee. Where the number of applicants is large, the committee may devise shortlisting criteria, which may include a written examination.
- Shortlisting information is published only on the AIIMS Bathinda website, and interview letters are sent by email only.
- Selected candidates receive appointment letters, subject to being declared medically fit.
The interview is held at AIIMS Bathinda in person. Requests for an online interview through Skype, Viber or similar are not accepted and no correspondence on the point is entertained. No TA or DA is paid for attending.
Keep your email address active throughout, and do not use anyone else’s. Every call letter and communication goes there and nowhere else.
Joining and Service Conditions
- Joining time is 30 days from the issue of the appointment letter. Extension is considered only in exceptional cases with the approval of the competent authority.
- Candidates pursuing a DM, M.Ch. or fellowship at the time of applying may join only if the course is completed on or before the last date of joining in the offer letter. Requests to join as faculty while continuing the course are summarily rejected, as are requests to extend joining time to finish one.
- If offered more than one post, a candidate who joins one may not later change to the other.
- The appointment is subject to review and probation of two years. During those two years an NOC for applying elsewhere is provided as per AIIMS Bathinda rules.
- The post is whole time and private practice of any kind is prohibited. No other assignment, paid or otherwise, may be accepted.
- Qualifications and experience must be recognised by the MCI, NMC or Government of India. Candidature is cancelled at any stage if they are not.
- Canvassing of any kind leads to disqualification, and the candidate must not have been convicted by any court of law.
