The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has issued two linked notifications for direct recruitment to the post of Surveyor (Bhoomapaka), Group-C, under the Department of Land Records, Survey Settlement and Land Records, Government of Karnataka. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Any one of the following from a recognised university or AICTE-approved institution:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering/Technology, any Engineering/Technology degree, or AMIE in any Engineering/Technology stream; OR
  • A degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Instrumentation, Electronics & Communication, or Agriculture (B.Sc.); OR
  • A Diploma in any branch of Engineering/Technology from an AICTE-approved institution.

Candidates must have already completed the qualifying course — those awaiting results are not eligible.

Age Limit

Age is calculated as on the last date of online application. A one-time 5-year relaxation (Government Order No. ಸಿಆಸಇ 262 ಸೇನನಿ 2025 dated 29 January 2026) has been added to the standard limits:

Selection Process

  1. Competitive Written Examination — Offline OMR-based, with Paper-I (General Knowledge, 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours) on 4 October 2026 and Paper-II (Specific Surveyor paper, 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours) on 3 October 2026. Minimum qualifying mark is 35% for general category; 0.25 marks deducted per wrong answer.
  2. Kannada Language Test — Qualifying only (150 marks, minimum 50 to pass), required for candidates who have not studied Kannada as first/second language up to SSLC or an equivalent higher exam. Marks are not added to the merit list.
  3. Document Verification — as per merit and category-wise reservation.
  4. Probation & Departmental Training — 2-year probation; selected candidates must clear the departmental “Kadaya Tharabeti” (Survey Training) exam within 6 months, scoring at least 35% theory and 40% practical.
