NIT Srinagar Temporary Faculty Recruitment 2026 – Apply for 18 Reserved-Category Posts

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar has released Advertisement No. NITS/Temporary Faculty/2026/02(F) dated 5 August 2026, inviting fresh applications for 18 unfilled reserved-category vacancies in Temporary Faculty positions. These are the seats that remained vacant after the Institute’s earlier drive (Advt. No. NITS/Temporary Faculty/2026/01(F), dated 12 June 2026) — either because no eligible candidate applied for them, or because selected candidates did not join. Applications close on 10 August 2026, and this round is open only to candidates who match the specific reserved-category slots listed below.

This is not a fresh, open-to-all recruitment. It is a targeted second call specifically for SC, ST and OBC vacancies that stayed empty after the June 2026 drive concluded. If you don’t belong to the category listed against a department below, you are not eligible for that particular seat in this round.

The distribution of reserved vacancies across departments is tentative and may change depending on the availability of eligible reserved-category candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A first-class Bachelor’s degree and a first-class Master’s degree in the relevant discipline are mandatory at both levels.
  • A Ph.D in the relevant field is required for every post listed above.
  • Candidates who completed a Direct Ph.D after B.Tech (without a separate Master’s degree) are also eligible.
  • Candidates must belong to the specific reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) shown against the vacancy they are applying for.

Nature of Engagement

This is a purely temporary assignment for 11 months, not a route to a permanent faculty position. Selected candidates must sign a service agreement, join immediately, and be physically present at the Srinagar campus — the Institute does not provide accommodation, so candidates must arrange their own stay. The engagement does not confer any right to continuous employment or permanency in future, and NIT Srinagar reserves the right to increase, decrease, defer or cancel the advertised vacancies at its discretion.

How to Apply

  1. Download the prescribed application form from the NIT Srinagar website.
  2. Fill in the form and attach self-attested scanned copies of all required documents — grade cards, degree certificates, experience certificates and category certificate.
  3. Confirm your own eligibility against the qualification and category listed for your target department before applying.
  4. Email the completed application and documents to the department-specific ID listed in the table above — not to a general institute address.
  5. Submit before 10 August 2026; applications sent to the wrong department email or after the deadline will not be considered.
