Job Description
Assistant Sub-Inspector (Ministerial) is the entry grade of clerical staff in the Police, handling receipt, despatch, typing, computer operation, and maintaining records, registers, office files and initial correspondence. Some senior ASI (M) staff are also entrusted with handling cash, maintaining cashbooks, and preparing and scrutinising bills.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
Age Limit
Not less than 18 years and not more than 35 years of age as on 1 August 2026. Upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for ST/SC candidates, or as notified by the Government from time to time.

Computer Proficiency
As prescribed by the Mizoram Group ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ posts Service/Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2023.
Mizo Language Proficiency
Candidates must pass the qualifying test in Mizo Language Proficiency, unless they studied Mizo as a subject in Class X (HSLC) or above within Mizoram, or opted for Mizo as MIL outside Mizoram, in which case they are exempted.

All documents must not be dated later than the last date of application, must be uploaded before the closing date, and must not be protected against viewing or printing, or they will be treated as not uploaded.
Application Fee and Other Notes
If paying via UPI, use only the mobile number registered for one-time registration. Persons with disabilities are exempted from payment of application fees. Fees once paid are non-refundable under any circumstances. Government servants must apply through proper channel.
