District Court Bongaigaon Recruitment 2026 – Apply Offline for Peon and Driver Posts
The Office of the District & Sessions Judge, Bongaigaon has issued two separate advertisements in August 2026 inviting applications to fill vacant posts in its establishment — one for Peon and one for Driver. Both are single-vacancy recruitments and both close on the same date.
Applications must be submitted in the Standard Form published in Part-IX of the Assam Gazette, and only offline mode is accepted. There is no online portal for either post.
One clause deserves attention before you read further. For the Peon post, candidates who have passed HSSLC or above are ineligible — this is an upper educational ceiling, not a minimum. Overqualified candidates will be rejected, so read the two advertisements as genuinely distinct recruitments rather than one notification with two options.

Common Eligibility Conditions
Both advertisements carry the same set of conditions:
- Candidates must be Indian Citizens as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.
- Candidates must have registered their names with the Employment Exchange of Assam, and the registration number along with its date must be stated in the application.
- Candidates already in Government service must apply through proper channel with an NOC from their employer.
- A Declaration in Form-“A” under Rule 5(1) of the Assam Public Services (Application of Small Family Norms in Direct Recruitment) Rules, 2019 must be submitted at the time of applying.
- Candidates who have contracted a marriage with a person having a living spouse, or who have a living spouse and have contracted a marriage with another person, are not eligible for appointment to either post.
- Suppressing educational qualifications or giving wrong information leads to rejection of candidature with immediate effect and makes the candidate liable to criminal prosecution.
The Employment Exchange registration is a hard requirement, not a formality. Candidates who have not registered locally in Assam should complete that step before preparing the application, since the number and date must appear on the form itself.
Documents Required
The application must be accompanied by self-attested photocopies of all relevant testimonials relating to:
- Educational qualification
- Experience, wherever applicable
- Caste certificate
- Age proof
- Employment Exchange registration
- Three copies of recent passport size photographs, duly signed by the candidate on the reverse side
- Valid LMV driving licence — for the Driver post
Three signed photographs is more than most notifications ask for. If you need to size prints or scans correctly, our free photo and signature resizer handles it in the browser.
How to Apply
- Obtain the Standard Form published in Part-IX of the Assam Gazette and fill it completely.
- Attach self-attested photocopies of all testimonials, three signed passport photographs, and the Form-“A” declaration.
- Provide your email address and mobile number in the application — the notification states this is required without fail.
- Address the application to the District & Sessions Judge, Bongaigaon, and write the name of the post applied for prominently on the top of the envelope.
- Submit either by post, or by dropping it in the Drop Box kept at the Office of the District & Sessions Judge, Bongaigaon on any working day between 10:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M.
- Ensure it reaches on or before 24 August 2026 (Monday), 5:00 P.M.
Two practical warnings from the advertisement itself. The appointing authority is not responsible for postal delay, so posting close to the deadline carries real risk — the Drop Box is the safer route if you can reach the office. And applications that are late, unsigned, incomplete, defective or missing supporting documents will be summarily rejected without further intimation.
Selection Process
For the Peon post, eligible candidates appear for an Interview / Viva-voce, and final selection is made on the basis of the marks obtained there alone.
For the Driver post, eligible candidates must appear for a skill test and viva-voce. Given the LMV licence requirement, the skill test is the practical component candidates should prepare for.
Important procedural points that apply to both:
- No individual Call Letter or Admit Card will be sent. The list of eligible candidates called for interview, skill test or viva-voce is uploaded on the official website and must be downloaded by candidates themselves.
- The accepted and rejected lists are also published on the website in due course.
- Place, date and time of the skill test and viva-voce are announced on the website.
- All updates appear on bongaigaon.dcourts.gov.in and on the Notice Board of the District & Sessions Judge’s office only — candidates are advised to check both regularly.
- No T.A. / D.A. is payable for attending.
- Canvassing directly or indirectly in any form disqualifies the candidature.
- The Selection Board reserves the right to cancel, alter or modify the advertisement or its terms without prior notice.
