Pune PDCC Bank Peon Recruitment 2026 Notification Out – Apply Online for 289 Posts

The Pune District Central Co-operative Bank Limited (PDCC Bank), Pune has released its Shipai (Peon) Direct Service Recruitment 2026 advertisement for 289 vacancies. Applications are invited online only, from candidates who are original residents of Pune district.

This is a tightly restricted recruitment, and that point deserves emphasis before anything else. The notification states that 100% of the posts are to be filled on a priority basis by candidates who are original residents of Pune district, and a valid Domicile Certificate is mandatory at the time of applying. Candidates from outside Pune district should read the domicile clause carefully before paying the fee, because the fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

The application window is short — just under a week. Registration opened on 4 August 2026 at 11:00 AM and closes on 10 August 2026 at 11:59 PM.

Vacancy, Eligibility and Salary

Post Vacancies Age Limit Educational Qualification Other Requirement
Shipai (Peon) 289 Minimum 18 years, maximum 38 years HSC (Class 12) pass, or an equivalent Diploma at the 12th level Original resident of Pune district for at least 15 years

Age Relaxation for Existing Contract Staff

There is one significant relaxation, and it is narrower than it first appears. Candidates who have completed at least three continuous years of work in the bank through a contract agency, in a single continuous stint, as on 01.08.2026, get the maximum age limit relaxed to 43 years. This applies to agency-deployed contract workers with unbroken service — a break in the stint takes the candidate outside the clause.

The notification is explicit that no other horizontal reservation applies to this recruitment.

Domicile Requirement

This is where most applications are likely to fail, so read it twice:

  • Candidates must hold a Domicile Certificate issued after 2018 by the competent authority, confirming original residence in Pune district.
  • Both the Domicile Certificate and the Aadhaar Card must be uploaded at the time of applying. This is not optional.
  • The uploaded Domicile Certificate is verified again at the document scrutiny stage.
  • Married women who are originally from outside Pune district must submit their husband’s Pune district domicile certificate along with a marriage registration certificate from the competent authority.

Candidates should also note that the post involves physical movement as part of the work, and the notification requires applicants to be physically fit and capable of carrying out that work.

Salary and Pay Scale

Selected candidates are appointed on a six-month probation period at a consolidated Rs 12,000 per month. After probation, the regular pay scale applies, along with allowances and facilities as per bank rules. The scale printed in the notification runs from a starting basic of Rs 11,500 through progressive increments up to Rs 11,170 at the final stage of the scale, with increment steps of Rs 10, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 24, 29 and 34 across defined service bands.

Application Fee

The examination fee is Rs 1,650 plus 18% GST and service charge, payable online only. There is no category-wise concession stated in the notification — the same fee applies to all applicants.

Two conditions around the fee are worth flagging:

  • Registration is not complete until the fee is paid. Filling the form without paying leaves the application incomplete.
  • The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. It will not be carried forward to any other examination or selection, under any circumstances.

Accepted payment modes are UPI, Debit Card (RuPay, Visa, MasterCard, Maestro), Credit Card, Internet Banking and mobile wallets including GPay, PhonePe and BHIM. An e-receipt is generated once the transaction succeeds — treat that receipt as your confirmation, and print a copy of the completed application along with the fee details.

Selection Process

Selection has three stages, carrying 100 marks in total.

1. Offline Written Examination — 70 Marks

Mode Offline, OMR (Optical Mark Recognition)
Question type Objective, multiple choice
Medium Marathi
Number of questions 70
Marks per question 1
Total marks 70
Duration 75 minutes

The paper is set in Marathi, and the subject weighting is unusual for a peon-grade recruitment — it leans heavily towards co-operative banking and rural credit rather than general aptitude alone.

Sr. Subject Marks
1 Basic information on the three-tier structure of agricultural credit supply 20
2 Banking and Co-operation 15
3 General Knowledge and Current Affairs 15
4 Agriculture and Rural Economy 10
5 Intelligence Test (Reasoning) 10
Total 70

Half the paper — 35 of 70 marks — sits in the co-operative credit structure and banking sections. Candidates preparing for this paper should not treat it as a general-knowledge exam. The three-tier structure of agricultural credit (state co-operative bank, district central co-operative bank, primary agricultural credit society) is the single largest block on the paper.

2. Document Verification

Candidates are called for document scrutiny in a 1:3 ratio against the number of vacancies, based on written examination marks. The list is published on the bank website by seat number order, not by rank order. Original documents must be produced at this stage; only candidates cleared at preliminary scrutiny move on to the interview.

3. Interview — 30 Marks

The interview carries 30 marks and assesses personality, physical capability, communication skills, basic banking knowledge, local knowledge of Pune district, service attitude, fundamental principles of co-operation and general conduct. Absence from the interview means disqualification from final selection — there is no second call.

Final Merit List

The final result is declared on the combined total of written examination marks plus interview marks, out of 100. A waiting list equal to 20% of the vacancies is also prepared, and it stays valid for one year from the date the final selection list is declared.

Where two or more candidates score the same total, the tie is broken in this order: (1) seniority by age, (2) experience, and (3) alphabetical order of surname in English.

  5. Upload a 1.5 cm × 3.5 cm signature, signed in black ink on white paper, scanned in JPG/JPEG format, file size between 10 KB and 20 KB.

  8. Print and keep a copy of the completed application and the fee payment receipt until the recruitment process is over.

The file size limits here are tight. If your scans come out too large, our free browser-based photo and signature resizer will bring them into range without you having to install anything. To confirm your exact age against the 01.08.2026 cut-off, use the age eligibility calculator.

Points Candidates Miss

  • One application only. A candidate found to have submitted more than one application is declared ineligible at the scrutiny stage and removed from the selection process.
  • Earlier applications do not count. Anyone who applied to the bank for this post previously — online, by email, by post or by hand — must submit a fresh online application. Old applications will not be considered.
  • No document checking before the exam. Eligibility is taken as declared in the online form. Scrutiny happens only after the written result, and a candidate found ineligible then is removed regardless of marks scored.
  • No information is posted. Exam centre, seat number and all other communication appear only on the two official websites.
  • Knowledge of Marathi, Hindi and English is required.
  • The small-family declaration applies. Candidates must submit the declaration under the Maharashtra Civil Services Rules, 2005.
  • No agency is authorised. The bank states it has not appointed any publication agency, YouTube channel or Telegram channel for guidance on this recruitment. Any advertisement or information claiming otherwise should be treated as illegitimate.
  • Candidates bear their own costs for attending the written examination, document verification and interview.
  • Jurisdiction for any dispute arising from this recruitment lies only with the Pune court.

The bank has also reserved the right to reduce the number of posts, to pause or cancel the recruitment at any stage without assigning a reason, and to change the number of posts, eligibility criteria or selection procedure — with any such change binding on candidates.
