TSLPRB Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 325 Police Constable, ASI, Station Fire Officer & More Posts
The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) has released a linked set of recruitment notifications, all dated 29 July 2026, covering 325 vacancies across the Telangana Police, Special Protection Force, Fire Services and Prisons departments.
Three notifications make up the 325 posts: Rc. No. 225/Rect./Rect.-1/2026 (275 posts), Rc. No. 234/Rect./Rect.-3/2026 (27 posts) and Rc. No. 279/Rect./Rect.-3/2026 (23 posts). Applications are accepted online only at www.tgprb.in.
One structural point is worth understanding before you go anywhere near the portal. These notifications, along with the separate PC Civil notification (Rc. No. 189/Rect./Rect.-2/2026), are linked. A candidate submits one registration only, which collects information across all of them, and the Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test are conducted once and counted across every post applied for. Registering more than once is a mistake that is difficult to undo.

Eligibility Criteria
Gender Eligibility
| Post Code(s) | Post | Eligible |
| 11, 12, 16, 17 | SI Civil, RSI (AR), SPF SI, Station Fire Officer | Men and Women |
| 13, 14, 18 | RSI (SAR CPL), RSI (TGSP), Deputy Jailor (Men) | Men only |
| 19 | Deputy Jailor (Women) | Women only |
| 33 | ASI, Fingerprint Bureau | Men and Women |
| 35, 36 | PC Mechanic, PC Driver | Men only |
Educational Qualification
All qualifications must be held as on 29 July 2026, the date of notification. Candidates holding a higher qualification than prescribed are considered on par with those holding the prescribed one.
| Post | Qualification |
| SI Civil, RSI (AR / SAR CPL / TGSP), SPF SI, Deputy Jailor | Degree from a UGC-recognised university or institution, or equivalent. Open University and distance education degrees must be recognised by UGC / AICTE / Distance Education Council. |
| Station Fire Officer | The same degree requirement, plus a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving licence as on the date of notification |
| PC Mechanic (Post Code 35) | SSC or equivalent, plus an ITI Certificate in Auto Electrician, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Mechanic Diesel or Fitter |
| PC Driver (Post Code 36) | Intermediate or equivalent, OR SSC plus an ITI Certificate in one of the four trades above; and a valid HPMV and Heavy Goods Vehicle or Transport Vehicle driving licence, valid also at the time of the Driving Test |
| ASI, Fingerprint Bureau (Post Code 33) | B.E. / B.Tech in Information Technology or Computer Science, including specialisations in Artificial Intelligence, AI & Machine Learning, Data Science, Networks, Cyber Security or Internet of Things; OR B.Sc. in Computer Science or Computer Application |
The PC Driver licence condition is the one that catches candidates out. The licence must be valid on 29 July 2026 and still valid on the day of the Driving Test, and candidates must furnish the Driving Licence Information issued by the concerned RTA licensing authority at certificate verification. A licence that lapses between the two dates is a problem.
Age Limit
Age is reckoned as on 1 July 2026.
| Post | Minimum | Maximum |
| SI Civil, RSI, SPF SI, Station Fire Officer, Deputy Jailor | 21 years | 25 years |
| ASI, Fingerprint Bureau | 21 years | 25 years |
| PC Mechanic (Post Code 35) | 18 years | 22 years |
| PC Driver (Post Code 36) | 21 years | 25 years |
| PC Mechanic — Home Guards | 18 years | 40 years |
| PC Driver — Home Guards | 21 years | 40 years |
On top of these limits, the Government of Telangana has raised the upper age limit for direct recruitment to uniformed services by five years vide GO Ms No. 87, General Administration (Services-A) Department, dated 18-05-2026. This five-year relaxation is in addition to the ceilings in the table and applies across Police, Fire Services, Prisons and Special Protection Force posts.
Further Age Relaxation
| Category | Relaxation |
| Telangana State Government employees (employees of TS TRANSCO, DISCOMs, TS GENCO, RTC, other state corporations, municipalities, local bodies and PSUs are not entitled) | Length of regular service, up to a maximum of 5 years |
| Ex-Servicemen (Army / Navy / Air Force / Territorial Army) | 3 years in addition to length of service in the Armed Forces |
| NCC Instructor with minimum 6 months as a whole-time Cadet Corps Instructor | 3 years in addition to length of NCC service |
| SC, ST, BC and EWS candidates | 5 years |
Beyond these, the notifications state the age limits can in no case be relaxed. Note also that age validation is not built into the online form — because relaxations differ by post, TSLPRB places the responsibility entirely on the candidate. An under-age or over-age application is rejected at any stage, and the fee is not refunded. Work out your exact position on 01.07.2026 with our age eligibility calculator before you pay.
Only the date of birth entered in the SSC, Matriculation or equivalent certificate is accepted. Horoscopes, affidavits, municipal birth extracts and service records are not.
Medical Standards
Distant vision must be 6/6 in each eye and near vision 0.5 (Snellen) in each eye, with a full field of vision in both. Colour blindness, squint or any morbid condition of the eye or lids is a disqualification. Candidates are also excluded for knock-knees, pigeon chest, flat foot, varicose veins, hammer toes, fractured limbs, decayed teeth, stammering, hard of hearing and abnormal psychological behaviour.
The notifications carry an explicit piece of advice worth taking seriously: get yourself examined by a Civil Surgeon before applying, to avoid disappointment at a later stage. Eye referrals go to Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, Hyderabad, and that opinion is final — a candidate is examined only once on such a referral, with no re-examination.
Selection Process
The stages differ by post group.
A. SI Civil, RSI, SPF SI, Station Fire Officer, Deputy Jailor
- Preliminary Written Test — one objective paper of 3 hours: Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning / Mental Ability (100 questions) plus General Studies (100 questions), 200 marks. Qualifying marks: 30% OC/EWS, 25% BC, 20% SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen.
- PMT / PET — run event, height measurement, long jump and shot-put.
- Final Written Examination — four papers of 3 hours each.
- Certificates Verification.
| Paper | Subject | Marks (Codes 11, 17, 18, 19) | Marks (Codes 12, 13, 14, 16) |
| I | English (Objective 25 + Descriptive 75) | 100 | 100 |
| II | Telugu / Urdu (Objective 25 + Descriptive 75) | 100 | 100 |
| III | Arithmetic and Reasoning / Mental Ability | 200 | 100 |
| IV | General Studies | 200 | 100 |
Papers I and II are qualifying only. Final merit for Post Codes 11, 17, 18 and 19 rests on Papers III and IV. For Post Codes 12, 13, 14 and 16, the normalised PET run-event score also counts towards merit — for those four codes the run is not merely a pass/fail hurdle. Qualifying marks per paper: 40% OC/EWS, 35% BC, 30% SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen.
B. PC Mechanic and PC Driver — No Preliminary Written Test
- PMT / PET.
- Trade Test (Mechanic) or Driving Test (Driver) — 100 marks.
- Written Examination — objective technical paper, 200 questions for 200 marks, 3 hours, set in English and answered on an OMR sheet in blue or black ball-point pen.
- Certificate Verification.
The Trade Test for PC Mechanic runs across 10 parameters of 10 marks each, covering tappet clearance setting, hub setting with a dial gauge, clutch master and slave cylinder work, clutch disc changing, gearbox selector dismantling, feed pump assembly and injector testing, kingpin play adjustment, air lock attending, valve and injector timing, and four-wheel brake adjustment.
The Driving Test for PC Driver runs across 8 parameters, with the heaviest weighting on road sense, general driving and vehicle control (20 marks), followed by minor repairs and breakdown handling and knowledge of motor vehicle mechanism (15 marks each).
Both tests require a minimum of 50 marks in aggregate, with the prescribed minimum in each parameter. Here is the clause that catches people: scoring below the minimum in three or more parameters means failure even if you clear 50 overall. Consistency across parameters matters as much as the total.
Final selection is on the aggregate of the Trade Test or Driving Test plus the Written Examination. Written qualifying marks: 40% OC/EWS, 35% BC, 30% SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen.
C. ASI, Fingerprint Bureau — No Preliminary Written Test
- PMT / PET.
- Written Examination in three papers of 3 hours each.
- Certificate Verification.
| Paper | Subject | Marks |
| I | English — Part A Objective (25) + Part B Descriptive (75). Qualifying only. | 100 |
| II | Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning / Mental Ability (200 questions) | 100 |
| III | Technical Paper — Computers (200 questions) | 200 |
Paper I is qualifying; final merit comes from Papers II and III. Part A of Paper I carries 25% negative marking for wrong answers, with zero marks for an unattempted question. In Paper II, candidates choose Telugu or Urdu as the second language of the question paper, and the choice once exercised is final. Where translation is ambiguous, the English version prevails.
The Paper III technical syllabus covers computer architecture and PC assembling, the memory system including RAID levels, peripherals, operating systems and Windows administration, database management and RDBMS concepts, the full MS-Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), and networking and security management including LAN/MAN/WAN topologies, firewall policy, packet filters, application gateways, antivirus concepts, encryption and VPN.
Candidates who secure 40% and above in each of Papers II and III are eligible for consideration under OC/EWS posts irrespective of social category.
Common PMT / PET Standards
| Event | Requirement |
| 1600 m run (Men, General) | Maximum 7 minutes 15 seconds |
| 1600 m run (Ex-Servicemen) | Maximum 9 minutes 30 seconds |
| 800 m run (Women) | Maximum 5 minutes 20 seconds |
| Height (Men, General) | Minimum 162 cm |
| Height (Women, General) | Minimum 152.5 cm |
| Height (Men, ST / Aboriginal Tribe, Agency areas) | Minimum 160 cm |
| Height (Women, ST / Aboriginal Tribe, Agency areas) | Minimum 150 cm |
| Long Jump (Men / Ex-Servicemen / Women) | 4 m / 3.50 m / 2.50 m — qualifying only |
| Shot-put (Men 7.26 kg / Women 4 kg) | 6 m / 6 m / 4 m — qualifying only |
Run timings are captured through RFID-based readings, with each competitor recorded independently and readings rounded mathematically to two decimal places. Where lane starts are needed, the curved-start method is used rather than a staggered start. The height relaxation for ST and Aboriginal Tribe candidates applies to the Agency areas of Adilabad, Komarambheem-Asifabad, Mancherial, Nagarkurnool, Khammam, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Mulugu, Mahabubabad and Warangal districts, and requires the Agency Area certificate issued under GO Ms No. 24 dated 12-06-2018.
The order of events is fixed: candidates must qualify the run first, then clear physical measurements, then attempt long jump and shot-put. No postponement or reconsideration of any stage is allowed under any circumstances, and absence from any test renders a candidate automatically disqualified.
Application Fee
The notifications do not print a rupee figure. They state that OC and BC candidates with local status of Telangana pay the fee “as designated in the Online Application”, while SC and ST local candidates pay a concessional fee. The applicable amount appears on the portal based on your category and the posts selected.
Where a candidate applies for more than one post among the linked notifications within three months, a rebate applies for each additional post beyond the first, reflecting the saving from the common PMT/PET:
- Rs 50 per additional post for Local SC and ST candidates of Telangana
- Rs 100 per additional post for all other candidates
The fee is not refunded in any case, including where a candidate turns out to be under-age or over-age, or where the form is filled but the submit button is never pressed.
Reservation and Special Categories
- Standard reservation under Rule 22 of the Telangana State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996 — BC-A, BC-B, BC-C, BC-D, BC-E, SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Meritorious Sports Persons and EWS.
- SC sub-classification applies: SC candidates must produce a Community Certificate showing SC Group-I, Group-II or Group-III as per Act No. 15 of 2025 dated 14-04-2025.
- BC candidates need the Community Certificate for age relaxation and a Non-Creamy Layer Certificate issued on or after 01-04-2026 to claim reservation. Failure to produce the NCL certificate on the day of verification means being considered under Open Competition, and the status cannot be changed later.
- Women’s reservation — 33⅓% horizontal for ASI (FPB) and applicable SI-group posts.
- Special category quotas, PC Mechanic — 10% Home Guards, 3% Children of Police Personnel, 1% NCC.
- Special category quotas, PC Driver — 20% Home Guards, 3% Children of Police Personnel, 1% NCC.
- BC, SC and ST candidates who are not local to Telangana under the Presidential Order 2018 are not entitled to any kind of reservation.
Home Guard and CPP certificates are valid only if obtained on or after the date of notification; certificates obtained before 29 July 2026 will not be entertained. NCC certificates, by contrast, must be issued on or before the notification date. The CPP benefit is limited to the first two children in a family.
How to Apply for TSLPRB Recruitment 2026
- Go to www.tgprb.in and register using your mobile number as the User ID. Keep that number active and in your own custody for the entire recruitment cycle.
- Select the notification(s) and post(s) you are eligible for. The fee payable is calculated from your selection.
- Pay the fee by Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking or another mode offered on the portal.
- Log back in and fill Part-I of the application form.
- Upload your passport-size photograph and specimen signature combined as a single JPG file, between 30 KB and 100 KB. An image uploaded without a signature causes rejection, and a non-JPG file is refused by the system.
- Endorse the declaration, confirm with the OTP sent to your registered mobile, and press submit. Download the submitted form as a PDF.
- Return to the site at the appropriate time to upload Part-II with scanned certificates. For PC Mechanic, PC Driver and ASI (FPB) there is no Preliminary Written Test, so Part-II dates are announced after the PC Civil or SI Civil preliminary test concludes.
The combined photo-and-signature image trips up a large number of applicants every cycle. Our free photo and signature resizer gets the file into the 30–100 KB band in the browser, and the JPG to PDF converter is handy for bundling certificate scans for Part-II.
Documents Required
- SSC / Matriculation certificate as proof of date of birth
- Educational qualification certificates for the post applied for
- Latest Community Certificate, with SC Group-I / II / III sub-classification where applicable
- Non-Creamy Layer Certificate for BC candidates, issued on or after 01-04-2026
- EWS Income and Asset Certificate issued on or after 01-04-2026
- Local Candidature: Study Certificate for Class I to VII, or a Residence Certificate from the Tahsildar for the relevant period
- Agency Area (Local Scheduled Tribe) Certificate where height relaxation is claimed
- Service Certificate for Telangana State Government employees claiming age relaxation
- NCC Instructor certificate where applicable
- PPO / Discharge Book, or NOC from the Unit Commanding Officer for serving personnel retiring within a year, for the Ex-Servicemen category
- Special category certificates — Home Guard, CPP, NCC, Meritorious Sports Person
- Valid driving licence — HPMV and HGV for PC Driver, LMV for Station Fire Officer
On local candidature, one clause is regularly misread: a single certificate, of study or of residence, is enough to apply as a Local Candidate. But a residence certificate is not accepted if the candidate studied in any educational institution up to Class VII — such candidates must produce study certificates, without exception. Only candidates who took a degree from an Open University without studying Class VII in an institution submit a residence certificate.
Important Instructions
- Do not register more than one application form. A single registration collects information across Rc. Nos. 189, 225, 234 and 279 of 2026, all dated 29-07-2026.
- No column may be left blank. Incomplete or incorrect forms are summarily rejected, and information furnished later in any form is not entertained.
- No corrections are possible after submission. Verify everything before pressing submit.
- Candidature is provisional at every stage. Issue of a hall ticket does not mean eligibility has been cleared; TSLPRB verifies original documents only after a candidate qualifies.
- There is no waiting list. Fallout vacancies from cancelled provisional selections lapse for that recruitment — there is no sliding down the merit list.
- Impersonation is criminally prosecuted, besides disqualification.
- Serving government employees selected for these posts can join training only after being relieved or resigning from their earlier service, arranged well before training begins.
- Appointment follows training. Selected candidates receive a stipend during institutional training and are appointed to the regular post only on successful completion.
- Employees appointed on or after 01-09-2004 come under the Contributory Pension Scheme.
- Rely on tgprb.in only. TSLPRB explicitly warns against rumours and false propaganda spread through media and social media by persons with vested interests.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many vacancies are in TSLPRB Recruitment 2026?
325 in total — 275 for SI Civil, RSI, SPF SI, Station Fire Officer and Deputy Jailor; 27 for PC Mechanic and PC Driver combined; and 23 for ASI, Fingerprint Bureau.
What is the last date to apply?
Not announced. TSLPRB will intimate the exact application dates through a separate press release on www.tgprb.in.
Can I apply for more than one post?
Yes, but through a single registration. One application form collects information across the linked notifications, and applying for additional posts earns a PMT/PET fee rebate of Rs 50 or Rs 100 per extra post depending on category. Registering twice leads to problems at scrutiny.
What is the age limit?
21 to 25 years as on 1 July 2026 for SI Civil, RSI, SPF SI, Station Fire Officer, Deputy Jailor, ASI FPB and PC Driver; 18 to 22 years for PC Mechanic. A further five-year relaxation applies to all these uniformed service posts under GO Ms No. 87 dated 18-05-2026, on top of category-based relaxations.
Are women eligible?
Women can apply for SI Civil, RSI (AR), SPF SI, Station Fire Officer, Deputy Jailor (Women) and ASI Fingerprint Bureau. PC Mechanic, PC Driver, RSI (SAR CPL), RSI (TGSP) and Deputy Jailor (Men) are open to men only.
What qualification does ASI Fingerprint Bureau need?
A B.E. or B.Tech in IT or Computer Science, including AI, AI & ML, Data Science, Networks, Cyber Security or IoT specialisations, or a B.Sc. in Computer Science or Computer Application, held as on 29 July 2026.
Is there a Preliminary Written Test for all posts?
No. Only the SI Civil, RSI, SPF SI, Station Fire Officer and Deputy Jailor group has one. PC Mechanic, PC Driver and ASI Fingerprint Bureau go straight to PMT/PET and then their respective tests.
Do I have to repeat the physical test for each post?
No. The PMT/PET is conducted once for all posts applied for among TSLPRB notifications issued within a three-month window, and the same readings count across every one of them.
What is the application fee?
The notifications do not state a rupee figure. The amount is displayed on the online portal based on your category and the posts selected, with a concessional rate for local SC and ST candidates. The fee is never refunded.
What happens if I miss the run event on my scheduled day?
Absence from any test disqualifies the candidate automatically. No postponement or reconsideration of any stage, including PMT/PET, is allowed under any circumstances.
Is there a waiting list?
No. TSLPRB maintains no waiting list, and fallout vacancies lapse for that recruitment rather than passing to the next candidate in merit.
Details above are taken from TSLPRB Notification Rc. Nos. 225/Rect./Rect.-1/2026, 234/Rect./Rect.-3/2026 and 279/Rect./Rect.-3/2026, all dated 29 July 2026, signed by the Chairman, TSLPRB, Hyderabad. Read the notification for your post in full before applying.
