The full gram sabha and ward-wise breakdown with reservation details has been posted on the notice boards of the Collectorate, Vikas Bhawan, tehsil and development block offices, and uploaded to the department website. Since eligibility is tied to a specific ward or gram sabha, check that list rather than relying on the project totals above.
Eligibility Criteria
Gender
Only women candidates are eligible for these posts. The notice states this explicitly.
Educational Qualification
Intermediate or equivalent is the minimum requirement. Merit and seniority are determined as per the government order.
Residence — The Rule That Matters Most
The applicant must be a permanent resident of the ward or gram sabha where the vacancy exists. Only if no eligible candidate of the relevant category is available in that gram sabha does the field widen to permanent residents of the concerned Nyay Panchayat.
This makes the recruitment far more local than the district-level headline suggests. A candidate from one part of Azamgarh cannot apply against a vacancy in another gram sabha simply because both fall in the same district.
Age
Minimum 18 years and not more than 35 years, calculated on the cut-off date of 1 July 2026.
Selection Process
There is no written examination and no interview. Recruitment is done purely on the basis of a merit list prepared in accordance with the arrangements laid down in the government order.
In practice this means your marks and your documents are the entire application. There is nothing to attend and nothing to prepare for — but equally, there is no later stage at which a weak entry can be corrected, so the form has to be filled accurately the first time.
Nature of the Post — Read This Before Applying
The notice is unusually direct about what this engagement is:
- The Anganwadi Sahayika post is entirely honorarium-based.
- The Uttar Pradesh State Employees Service Rules do not apply to it.
- Service can be ended at any time under the arrangements described in the government order.
It is a government-linked role within the ICDS scheme, not a regular state government job carrying service protections. Anyone applying should be clear about that distinction from the outset.
Documents and Certificates
- Widows: a death certificate issued by the Gram Panchayat Adhikari or the concerned urban local body, plus a certified copy of the family register.
- Divorced or abandoned women: a legal order issued by an Hon’ble Court.
- BPL income limit: governed by Social Welfare Section-2 order 22/2015/2123/26-2-2015 dated 14 September 2015, as amended.
- Income, residence and caste certificates: only digitally signed certificates issued online from the tehsil, capable of online verification, will be accepted. Income certificates follow Revenue Section-9 order 3959/1-9-11 Raj-9 dated 30 September 2011, as amended.
How to Apply
- Go to upanganwadibharti.in and open the Anganwadi Helper section.
- Register and complete the online application form for Azamgarh district.
- Enter your details carefully — only the information filled in online will be used for selection. No record submitted offline will be accepted at any stage.
- Submit before 12:00 midnight on 31 August 2026.
Offline application forms will not be accepted or treated as valid under any circumstances. The notice also advises studying the government order and instructions available on the website before applying, so as to avoid errors.
