SIDBI SO Recruitment 2026 – Apply for Market Intelligence and Research Analyst Post
The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has released Advertisement No. 04/2026-27 dated 05 August 2026 for the engagement of Specialist Officers on a full-time contractual basis, covering one post of Market Intelligence and Research Analyst (MIRA).
SIDBI was established on 2 April 1990 under an Act of Parliament and is the principal financial institution for the promotion, financing and development of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector. Its stated mission is to facilitate access to capital and build the capacity of MSMEs.
One point to be clear about at the outset: despite the “SO” framing, this is a single-vacancy contractual engagement, not a regular officer cadre recruitment, and applications are sent by email rather than through an online portal.

SIDBI notes that it may not be possible to employ candidates with disabilities in all offices or departments, and that they will work at the post or centre decided by the Bank.
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
The candidate should be not more than 35 years old as on 31 July 2026. Our free age eligibility calculator will confirm your position against that specific cut-off date.
Educational Qualification (as on 31 July 2026)
| Minimum | Graduate degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Commerce, Finance, Data Science, Public Policy or a related field from a recognised University or Institute |
| Desirable | Postgraduate qualification — MBA/PGDM in Strategy, Finance or Analytics; M.Stat; M.Sc in Data or Analytics; MPP/MPA — or certifications in research and analytics such as CFA, FRM or data/BI certifications |
Experience (as on 31 July 2026)
A minimum of 5 years in market intelligence, economic or sector research, strategy, consulting, policy research, analytics or business research roles — in banks, NBFCs, DFIs, rating agencies, think tanks, consulting firms or analytics organisations.
Hands-on experience is required in:
- Building insight briefs and leadership-ready presentations
- Sector and market sizing, competitive benchmarking and opportunity assessment
- Working with data — Excel, SQL, BI — to triangulate findings and build dashboards and trackers
The notification carries an unambiguous warning here: applications without a relevant experience certificate from the employer will be rejected. The certificate must state specifically that the candidate had experience in the related field as required. A generic service letter will not do, and this is the single most common reason competent applicants get filtered out at screening.
Key Competencies
Technical: Research and synthesis (Proficient) — structuring ambiguous problems, secondary research, triangulating sources into clear insights. Economic and sector analysis (Proficient) — macro indicators, policy impacts, sector value chains, market sizing. Data tools, Excel/SQL/BI (Intermediate) — datasets, trackers, dashboards and automation of recurring reports.
Behavioural: Analytical thinking and problem solving (Proficient), and stakeholder management (Intermediate) across ERDA, business verticals, risk and operations.
Job Profile
The MIRA serves as SIDBI’s dedicated intelligence and research resource, tracking macro, policy and sectoral trends to identify emerging opportunities aligned to the Bank’s MSME development mandate. Key responsibilities include:
- Tracking and interpreting macroeconomic, policy, regulatory and government-initiative developments relevant to MSMEs, and translating the implications for SIDBI business lines and portfolios.
- Maintaining a structured market intelligence cadence — weekly and monthly briefs, thematic notes and leadership decks with clear insights and action points.
- Conducting sectoral, thematic and cross-cutting research across priority MSME sectors and clusters, value chains, exports, climate and ESG, and digital enablement.
- Building and owning an opportunity pipeline for new growth curves — identifying, sizing, prioritising and refreshing potential programmes, products and partnership themes.
- Scanning the market for innovation and global best practice — new financing models, fintech solutions, underwriting and collections innovations, and DFI or peer benchmarking.
- Partnering with internal stakeholders including the CMD and DMD offices, ERDA and business verticals.
Remuneration
CTC will be around Rs 20.00 lakh per annum plus other facilities such as Group Insurance, based on qualification, experience and overall suitability.
SIDBI states that the remuneration figures are indicative ballpark ranges and not hard filters — a candidate’s fit in terms of skills, experience and alignment with the Bank’s mandate is evaluated first, and candidates are not screened out solely on current or expected compensation. There is provision for an annual increment on the initially finalised CTC based on performance review, and the salary includes a variable component linked to performance.
How to Apply
- Download the application format available on the Bank’s website and fill it in English or Hindi, with a recent passport size photograph pasted on it.
- Sign the application and your CV in full, across the page, with the date.
- Attach self-attested copies of certificates and documents supporting proof of identity, address, age, educational qualification (certificates and marksheets) and work experience.
- Email the application and CV to recruitment@sidbi.in on or before 25 August 2026.
- Use exactly this subject line format: “Application for the post of <<Post Code>>, <<Name of the Post>> <<Candidate Name>>”.
Two rejection triggers are stated outright. Handwritten applications or CVs are summarily rejected — the form must be typed. And an application without the required document copies, not in the prescribed format, unsigned, incomplete in any respect, or received after the due date will not be entertained under any circumstances.
To assemble your certificates into a single attachment or size the photograph correctly, our free JPG to PDF converter and photo and signature resizer both work in the browser.
Selection Process
Selection is by shortlisting followed by a Personal Interview held online before the Selection Committee, on a date to be informed in due course.
- SIDBI undertakes a preliminary screening to prepare a shortlist. Merely meeting the advertised requirements does not automatically entitle a candidate to an interview, and the Bank’s decision is final.
- The merit list is prepared in descending order on interview scores only. Where candidates tie at the cut-off, they are ranked by age in descending order.
- SIDBI reserves the right to draw up a wait list.
- The Bank also reserves the right to raise or modify the eligibility criteria, including educational qualification and minimum work experience, in order to restrict the number of candidates called for interview.
Since the interview is conducted online, candidates must ensure they have the infrastructure specified in the call letter available on the day.
Other Conditions
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- The number of vacancies is provisional and may vary, and the designation may be changed by the Bank without prior notice.
- Interview intimation is sent by email or uploaded on the Bank’s website — no hard copy is sent. Keep the email ID and mobile number given in the application active and unchanged throughout the process.
- Candidates in Government, Quasi-Government, PSU, nationalised bank or financial institution service must submit a No Objection Certificate at the time of interview.
- Appointment is subject to being declared medically fit by the Bank Medical Officer, satisfactory character and background verification, and a satisfactory report from the previous employer.
- Furnishing false or fabricated information, or suppressing material facts, leads to cancellation of candidature — and termination of service if detected after appointment — with civil or criminal consequences.
- Canvassing in any form leads to disqualification.
