ONGC Medical Officer Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 24 Posts

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC), a Maharatna Public Sector Enterprise and India’s flagship energy major, has released Advt. No. 3/2026 (R&P) for the engagement of doctors on a fixed term basis at various ONGC work locations.

In total the notification covers 24 positions across four categories — Occupational Health, Specialists at Dehradun Hospital, Specialists at Sivasagar Hospital, and Homeopathy. Engagement runs from the date of joining until 30 June 2028.

Two features make this notification unusual and worth reading closely. There is no maximum age limit for applying, which opens it to experienced and retired practitioners. And the registration window is only two weeks wide — 5 to 18 August 2026 — with document verification and interviews conducted in person at the specific work location applied for.

  • Candidates who acquired MBBS or MD from a foreign university are eligible provided the qualification is recognised and approved by MCI / NMC.

Selection Process

Qualification 70 marks — 60 for essential qualification, up to 10 for relevant higher qualifications
Interview 30 marks
Total 100 marks

Qualifying marks in the interview are 18 for UR/EWS/OBC and 12 for SC/ST.

Where MBBS is the minimum prescribed qualification, the 10 higher-qualification marks break down as 5 marks for a relevant PG degree (MD/MS in one of the listed clinical specialities) and a further 5 marks for a post-PG qualification such as M.Ch or DM. PG degrees in Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, or Physiology do not attract the additional 5 marks for the Occupational Health post.

For the Homeopathy post, shortlisting is restricted to a 1:10 ratio. Where more than ten candidates are eligible, shortlisting is on a weightage of 80 for the percentage in BHMS plus 20 for a relevant MD degree. Candidates tied at the cut-off are all shortlisted.

Document verification and the interview are conducted in person at the work location applied for. No request for a change of venue will be entertained.

  • Engagement is purely fixed term up to 30 June 2028, commencing from the date of joining, and subject to medical fitness.
