HBCHRC Punjab Recruitment 2026 – Walk-in for Junior Engineer & Foreman Electrical Posts

M/s. Innovsource Services Pvt. Ltd., the outsourcing agency supplying manpower services to Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (HBCHRC), Punjab, has announced a walk-in interview under Advt. No. OS/MUL/34/2026 dated 30 July 2026 for two technical posts.

HBCHRC is a unit of Tata Memorial Centre, a Grant-in-Aid institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. The interview takes place on 7 August 2026, with reporting between 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM at the H.R.D Department of the hospital in New Chandigarh.

Two things to be clear about at the outset. This is a contract engagement through an outsourcing agency, not a direct Tata Memorial Centre or DAE appointment. And the posting may be at either New Chandigarh or Sangrur, as institutional requirement dictates — candidates should be prepared for both locations before attending.

Vacancy Details, Eligibility and Salary

1. Junior Engineer (Civil) — 1 Post

Educational Qualification Diploma in Civil — 3 years after SSC, or 2 years after HSC — from a State Board of Technical Education. OR a higher relevant qualification from an institute approved by a State or Central Examination body.
Experience Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience with an established firm in supervision, quality control and billing of construction of multi-storey buildings
Age Limit 30 years
Salary Rs 35,000 to Rs 40,000 per month

The experience clause here is specific rather than general. It asks for supervision, quality control and billing on multi-storey building construction — three named functions. Candidates whose diploma experience sits in roads, water supply or small-scale works should be ready to show how it maps onto that description at the interview.

2. Foreman Electrical — 1 Post

Educational Qualification SSC plus ITI (Electrical), NCVT or SCVT, a 2-year full-time course from a Government-recognised institute
Experience 7 years after ITI; OR 6 years after ITI plus apprenticeship, in electrical maintenance works in industry, commercial establishments or hospitals
Age Limit 35 years
Salary Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 per month

The apprenticeship route is worth noting: completing an apprenticeship after ITI reduces the required experience by a full year, from 7 years to 6. Candidates who did an apprenticeship should carry that certificate, since it directly affects eligibility.

Selection Process

Selection is by walk-in interview. However, the notification adds an important qualifier: if a large number of candidates attend, an MCQ test will be conducted, and only candidates shortlisted through that test proceed to the interview.

Candidates should therefore plan for a longer day than a straight interview would need, and revise the technical fundamentals of their trade before attending rather than relying on experience alone to carry the conversation.

Innovsource has also reserved the right to:

  • Fix a minimum eligibility standard or benchmark and restrict the number of candidates called for the written examination, interview or skill test, taking into account the number of vacancies and percentage of marks in graduate or postgraduate degrees.
  • Fix cut-off marks group-wise, stream-wise, discipline-wise or category-wise while finalising candidates to be called.
  • Restrict the number of candidates called for any stage to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications and experience.

The decision of the competent authority in these matters is final and binding, and no correspondence about it will be entertained. Simply fulfilling the prescribed qualifications does not entitle an applicant to be called.

Documents to Carry

Photocopies of the following must be submitted at the time of interview, and originals must also be carried for verification:

  • Resume and two recent passport size photographs — both mandatory
  • Date of birth proof — birth certificate, school leaving certificate or SSC passing certificate
  • Educational qualification — mark sheet and passing certificate for final examinations
  • Past employment — experience certificate indicating date of joining and date of relieving
  • Current employment — appointment letter and last pay slip
  • PAN Card and Aadhaar Card

Two details in this list cause avoidable rejections. The experience certificate must show both joining and relieving dates — a bare service letter without dates does not establish the three or seven years being claimed. And if you are currently employed, the appointment letter plus last pay slip are required, not just one of them.

If you need to size photographs or keep certificate scans on your phone as a backup, our free photo and signature resizer and JPG to PDF converter both work entirely in the browser.

Important Conditions

  • Age and experience may be relaxed for candidates possessing higher qualifications, or for otherwise deserving candidates, after due process and recommendation of the selection committee and approval of the competent authority. Norms can be relaxed for deserving candidates with relevant experience.
  • The number of posts may increase or decrease as per the requirement of the institute.
  • Canvassing in any form disqualifies the candidature.
  • False or incomplete information leads to cancellation at any stage. If a shortcoming is detected even after appointment, the services of the candidate are liable to be terminated forthwith.
  • Candidates should satisfy themselves that they meet all eligibility criteria before applying, since the responsibility rests with them.
  • This advertisement is only for Indian nationals.
