RailTel Corporation of India Limited, a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, has issued notification No. RCIL/2024/P&A/27/1 dated 28.07.2026 for engagement of 40 apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 — 32 Graduate Engineer and 8 Diploma Engineer positions. The last date is 27 August 2026.
One exclusion rules out a large group of applicants immediately: candidates who have already completed an apprenticeship elsewhere, or are currently pursuing one with another organisation, are not eligible.

RailTel is a telecom and ICT infrastructure company, which is why the discipline list is narrow. Mechanical and Civil engineers are not covered by this notification.
Eligibility
- Nationality: Indian nationals
- Graduate Engineer Apprentice: full-time regular 4-year graduation in Engineering or Technology from an AICTE-approved college
- Diploma Engineer Apprentice: full-time regular 3-year Diploma in Engineering or Technology from an AICTE-approved institution
- Marks: minimum 60% aggregate in the qualifying degree or diploma
- Age: 18 to 27 years
- Not eligible: anyone who has already completed an apprenticeship, or is currently undergoing one with another organisation
Posting Locations
Apprentices will be placed at RailTel locations across India — the Corporate Office in New Delhi and Gurgaon, plus the Northern, Eastern, Southern and Western regional offices. Location is assigned by RailTel according to requirement.
Selection Process
Shortlisting is based on a merit list drawn from marks in the qualifying examination, followed by an interview where applicable. Final engagement is subject to document verification and medical fitness as per RailTel rules.
Since merit rests on your qualifying marks, there is no exam to prepare for — but it also means your degree or diploma percentage largely determines whether you make the list.
